I am writing in the garden. To write as one should of a garden one must write not outside it or merely somewhere near it, but in the garden.
Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849-1924)
1958 was a good year.
What Things Cost in 1958:
Car: $2,200
Gasoline: 30 cents/gal
House: $18,000
Bread: 19 cents/loaf
Milk: $1.01/gal
Postage Stamp: 4 cents
Stock Market: 584
Average Annual Salary: $5,500
Minimum Wage: $1.00 per hour
That's the year I was born and every thing about me started that year, somehow I learned to like the outdoors so I have spent a few hours in a deer stand, I like to sail but don’t really believe I will ever have another sailboat. I love period festivals so I don’t have a lot of friends.
One wife, three wonderful children, and three grand children, I feel myself slipping into a doting old fool.
I guess if you really want to know about me you’ll read the blog!
